for Quickly’s “Spiral”

She erased a poem
down to a single period,
cut an irregular circle
in which the point
was slightly off-center,
pasted it on an unlined page.
She called it a political
point because she, too,
was perplexed uncertain
unsure if there was any meaning
without context, if this
was the start of a spiral,
its end, or one among many poles
so far apart they lacked a god
to describe their geometry.

Always good to hear from friends
